Extracts from Yellapu Mukunda Ramarao

The above jpg files are extracts written by sri.Yellapu Mukunda Ramarao, a Gavara researcher, who published a book on the centenary of his father sri.Yellapu Yellaiah Naidu. It is a beautiful translation of our family history, correlating the story of Gavaras. Read and enjoy.

Advantages of LED LIGHTING&Action plan

Light Emitting Diode is the full form of the LED . There are many advantages of using the LEDs are as follows :

  •  Telangana state is in power crisis and many such states there in the country. The power can be a lot saved through the LEDs.About 80% compared to  incandescent lights, 50 % to  60% of CFLs would be saved on using of LEDs.
  • Main source of power in India is Thermal energy, which causes alot of pollution on using coal, diesel and petrol , etc . pollution is causing Global warming and climate change. We can save about 60% of energy used in lighting. The energy used for lighting in India is about 28%. save the energy means saving the planet.
  • Incandescent bulbs emit high heat.LEDs emit less heat.Hence, in the air conditioning circumstances, LEDs cause consumption of less energy by A.Cs.
  • To produce energy, the cost is very high.Where as to save the energy through LEDs, cost is less.
  • Using the LEDs will accelerate the use of solar energy, as less numbers of panels are required for obtaining same illumination.
  • Tripping of transformer due to high load will come down as LEDs consume less energy.
  • Increased use of the LEDs would decreases the prices of the LEDs.It will cause to make available the LEDs to middle class and poor .Government should see that all the taxes on LEDs to be scrapped or minimal. The power saving advantages such as employment generation, purchase of more LEDs would nullify the economic loss.
  • Indigenous production of the chips (diodes), etc is very low . earlier government was planning to start the FAB city for production of above material. The same has to be expedited.Similar such projects has to be newly initiated to manufacture the LEDs at low cost, without depending on foriegn countries and without loosing foreign exchange.
  • Government should see that loans are made available to the producers of LEDs to increase the production. All the amenities should be provided , including land to producers.
  • Bachat Lamp Yojana Scheme was in place to increase the use of CFLs.Similar effort should be done for increased use of LEDs.
  • Government should enact certain places and high lighting consumers to shift to use of LEDs.
  • Awareness programmes must be conducted on the advantages of LEDs for its increased use.
  • Incentives in the form of tax and fee remissions should be given to the house owners and constructing people. Emphasis of installation shall be on commercial establishments, as the return of Investment is 3 to 4 less period than residential buildings.
  • India is dependent on other countries for petrol and diesel. Increase of these prices would hamper the economy of our country. Huge foreign exchange had to be spent and cause ourselves to weaken our Rupee value. On using LEDs solar energy would be cheaper and petro chemical consumption would be comedown in two ways. Thus, LEDs use causes stabilisation of prices, Rupee value and saving of valuable foriegn exchange. Thus, using of LEDs and motivating others is nothing but patriotism.
