Earlier ,I assured Rapole Ramkumar Bharadwaj to write an analysis on the Gotras of Yellapus.Unfortunately, i got time to keep my promise after a long time.Gotra analysis will definitely clarify some of the aspects.
Yellapus have the Saptharshi Gotras. The Bharadwaja Gotra is the most famous Gotras in India with many Branches and yellapus are not exceptional to this phenomena.Maharishi Bharadwaja was the son of Devarshi Bruhaspati.Devarshi Bruhaspati was the son of Maharshi Angirasa. Among all the seven Rishi gotras Bharadvaja is the largest chain. Bharadvaja gotra has more than 1400 branches.

They also have Vasista Gotra.Vasista was a Rajaguru, serving in the court of Dasharadha.

Also,Pulastya was one of the ten Prajapati or
mind-born sons of Brahma, and one of the Saptarishis.
Other Rishi names in the Gotras of Yellapus includes Mudgala,Gargeya maharshi, Brungi and Kaushika.
One Mudgal is a Braahman Rishi and is known for his generosity and simplicity. Mudgal has written one Upanishad out of 108 Upanishad - Mudgalopanishad. He had a daughter named Marudwatee. He married her to Rishi Mrikandu. They had a son named Maarkandeya Muni.Mudgala is one of the two Rajarshis.

Kaushika gotra including the illustrious house of Rashtrakutas and Shivaji.People belonging to Kaushika (Kaushikasa/Kaushikasa/Ghrit) Gotra take Rajarshi Kaushika as their progenitor. Kaushika was son of Vishvamitra. 11 out of 96 royal clans of Marathas belong to Kaushika gotra including the illustrious house of Shivaji. 2 more clans belong to the Vishvamitra gotra. Kaushika gotra also belongs to Baish clan of Rajputs which includes in the Suryavanshi Rajput, one of the oldest and biggest Kshatriya/Chattari clan of Vedic India. Heena Kaushika is one of the most notable descendents of the Kaushika's empire.
According to legend, Bringi munivar was a devotee of Lord Siva. Siva was seated with Parvathi by his side. Bringi rishi was not willing to offer his respects to Parvathi. He took the form of a bee & flew round lord Siva only, neglecting Parvathi. To teach the rishi a lesson, Parvathi Devi asked to share the Lord's body & hence became one with him. This form indicates that Siva - conciousness and Sakthi - energy are both equally important & are inseparable.

Srivatsasa Gotra is verymuch prevalent in the Brahmins .The same is also existing in the Yellapus. Srivatsa gotra-means "beloved of Sri",
where Sri refers to the goddess Lakshmi.
