Once upon a time there was a king. He thought of inspecting the kingdom. He chose some reliable people to accompany him. He discarded the kingly attire and started his inspection.
He went to a village and found one age old person planting a mango sappling.
King was astonished and rediculed the old man that you are an old man.why you are planting it?Are you expecting to reap the fruits out of it?
The old man told the king that i am not expecting the fruits but if my fore fathers thought in same
way and wouldn't have taken up plantation, what is our fate?
King was astonished at the reply of the old man and realised the importance of plantation for the next generation. He gave the gold coins to the old man for his fore sight in applaud.
The story does not end here. The king Ashoka is remembered for his avenue plantation on the roads leading to the important places.Even the Delhi sulthans were also applauded for the plantation taken up on the important roads.
It is now time to review our performance in terms of plantation. Are we protecting the trees and plants. Are we planting the sapplings for the wellbeing of our next generations? Are we realising that the trees are sources of oxygen , water food and many things.
Hence, it is the time to protect our next generations from calamities out of Global warming and climate changes by taking up tree plantation, before mankind is at the verge of extinction.
