During may, 2014, I visited kakiralapalli , while returning from warangal after attended the official duty. Its original name was Kakartyalapally, on the name of kakartya Gundana, an early rulers of kakatiyas. Kakartyala has corrupted to kakkirala. On my visit I found one laxminarsimha swamy temple. As per the information given by people, one piller of temple was found in the near by big well, may be also called Gundam. As the pillar is related to narsimha swamy, people established that temple. On the back of the temple, two wonderful statues of Goddesses are established as a separate temple. Here ,I felt that original temple might be belongs to kakathidevi and other Gods. Two Nandis are found in this village. This clarify that there may be more than one temples would have existing in that period, as only one nandi used to be found in one temple .
One nandi idol is made with black stone ,which is a typical feature of later kakatiya architecture. It is well protected. But ,one nandi idol is kept outside of a private house.part of the idol was destroyed and can be watched in the photos. Near the well protected nandi, we can observe the vinayaka idol.
I have also seen one vishnu idol kept in anjaneya swamy temple near the tank.one other destroyed idol and idol of vinayaka is found in this anjaneya temple. It clarify, beyond any doubt, that more than one temples would have existing in Kakkairalapally in those days.
The Gundapu families related to kapu community are existing in this village. They may be related to kakartya Gundana or atleast worked under him. Ponnam families of mudhiraj community is also existing there. They are also belongs to warrior families.
Kakkairalapally would have destroyed during the war with Delhi sulthans. The exact story has to be ascertained, as and when someone reveals it.
