Nallalam or Putlaputlam or Gaddi Chamanthi plant is available in all
the districts of the telangana area. It is a small shrub.Nallalam is
the word widely used in the Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizamabad
districts. Putlaputlam is the word used for the same plant in Nalgonda
and Khammam districts.It is also known as Gayapaka, as it heals the
wounds (Gayalu).
The advantages of Nallalam leaves are as follows :
1.It clots the blood immediately in case of an accident or cuts.
2.It
also allows the skin layers to form immediately in one or two days of
accidents or wounds.The advantage multiples, if juice of Nallalam is
used by mixing it with turmeric.
3.The scars out of pimples, wounds and burns would be cured or minimised.
4.Most of the skin problems are curable with these leaves.
Personal Experiences:
1 . One day I went to Undrugonda Laxmi narasmhaswamy temple, along with the families of officials, there one boy fell down and head was injured.There was no medical facilities. There I applied the juice of Nallalam leaves. Blood was immediately clotted and on next day layer was formed on the injured place.
2 . While I was in
suryapet in 2012, my daughter Prerana was playing in the open space
available in the municipal commissioner quarter and accidentally fell
down.She hit a sharp stone on head.Blood was flowing continuously. I
received a phone call from my wife.i rushed to the quarter. By that time
I reached there, my wife applied turmeric. Later I poured the juice of
Nallalam. Subsequently, consulted doctor. Astonishingly, a layer was
formed on the head . Actually, I was thinking that the wound would be
cured in 7 days.
