tortoise was living in the tank named Karpura Gauravam. In the abutting tree
hole, the rat use to live.On the same tree the crow was living. In the
neighboring bushes, the deer was living.
In the evening hours, they chit chat happily. On one day, deer
didn't cameback to its abode till the evening. The other three animals were
worried.while deer did not returned to its abode, crow assured to search for it
and started searching with a worry that what would have been the reason for not

the crow.It requested the crow to save it.Deer assured to bring their friend
Rat to cutoff the net.Immediately the crow comeback with the Rat keeping it on
its back. Rat had cutoff the net with its sharp teeth and released the deer

While the three friends were walking happily, the tortoise was

coming to this place? The tortoise answered that I could not control the anxiety about the
trouble to our friend Deer, even I know that both of you can save our friend.
The deer kissed the tortoise saying that you are the true friend.
Thus, the four friends were happily moving to their abode.
As they passed a little distance, they observed the hunter coming
in the opposite direction. On seeing the hunter, deer ran into the bushes, crow
flied on to a near by tree, rat into the underground rat hole. But, the tortoise could not escape
and caught by the hunter.
The hunter was happy as he caught the tortoise after escape of the
deer.He tied the tortoise to the edge of the bow and leaving to home by keeping
it on the shoulder.
The deer, rat and crow started worrying for the tortoise being
captured by the hunter. The crow asked the rat to give an idea for the release
of the tortoise from the hands of the hunter.
In reply to this the rat said , in the way of the hunter, the deer
will lie, as if it is dead. Then the hunter would put the tortoise tied to the
bow. Then, I will cut off the rope tied up to the bow. Thus, the tortoise can
escape. The idea was well appreciated by the rat and crow.
Subsequently, the three animals ran in the way of destiny of the
hunter in a shortcut quickly. The deer laid down on the road, as if it is died. The
crow was acting as if it is pearcing the deer. The slowly walking hunter
observed this and felt happy about his fortune of getting another deer, as if
he lost a caught one.He put the heavy tortoise on the ground and walked towards
the deer.
Immediately the rat cutoff the rope tied to the tortoise. The crow
flied saying cav, cav. The deer escaped from there. The estonished hunter looked
for the tortoise. It was too late for him, as the tortoise reached the abutting
tank.
The hunter was very sad for his bad luck and loosing everything.
He returned to the home.
