It was proposed by the fallen emperor that the saluvaji families are descent of saluva Narasa naika. Hence, our people established the dynasty under vijayanagara also. Here I put pros and cons on the proposal basing on my research so far made. for many of the things the oral history played the vital role. Whether any of our elders said about it?It is clear that soon after the downfall of kakatiya and Rachakonda dynasties, the yellapu soldiers and leaders migrated to the vijayanagara kingdom to reallocate themselves. There are historical evidences available for such migration. They played vital role in the wars against the kalinga Gajapathi and father of Vishwanatha naika during the period of Srikrishnadevaraya ,basing on the migration patterns.
Further, yellapus are north Indian descent. They stayed in the areas of Jharkhand and Chattisgarh. The word Salva means army in hindhi. The respected person in the army is called as salvaji. The word salva can be changed to saluva is mostly possible,as these people are north Indian descent in south India. In other way , till recent times the system of veil is followed. It can be assumed that North Indian traditions were followed. Here we have to examine what is the meaning of saluva mentioned in the history books. If it is something related to army, the proposal of the fallen emperor may be correct subject to fulfillment of following criteria
: • What is the Gotra of saluva people?
- Whether it is matching with the present Salvaji families?
- What is the originating point of saluva families and staying point of salvaji families at that time?
- What is the source of information for relating saluva and salva other than the book mentioned? For obtaining my full opinion, please send me the book published by the t.t.d and also try to answer my questions for indepth analysis For information and analysis I am here with sharing the history of saluva dynasty, with the similarities and dissimilarities of salvaji families. The Saluva Dynasty was created by the Saluvas who by historical tradition were natives of the Kalyani region of northern Karnatakain modern India. The Gorantla inscription traces their origins to this region from the time of the Western Chalukyas and Kalachuris of Karnataka.[1] The term "Saluva" is known to lexicographers as "hawk" used in hunting. They later spread into the east coast of modern Andhra Pradesh, perhaps by migration or during the Vijayanagara conquests during the 14th century.[1]
- The yellapus including the salvaji families have migrated to Karnataka during the vijayanagara, after downfall of the kakatiyas and subsequently after Rachakonda downfall. Here the period is not matching. If they would have merged with the local population in northern Karnataka, who would have been staying there from westernchalukyas. Also, the meaning of Salva is Army.Other similarity is that yellapu families also migrated to A.P during the vijayanagara conquests.
- The earliest known Saluva from inscriptional evidence in the Vijayanagara era was Mangaldeva, the great grandfather of Saluva Narasimha Deva Raya. Mangaldeva played an important role in the victories of King Bukka Raya I against the Sultanate of Madurai. His descendents founded the Saluva Dynasty and were one of the ruling lines of the Vijayanagara Empire of Southern India.[1] Three kings ruled from 1485 to 1505 after which the Tuluva Dynasty claimed the throne. They ruled almost the entire South India withVijaynagar as their capital. Saluva Narasimha was the first king of the dynasty ruling from 1485–1490. Narasimha spent his reign in relatively successful campaigns to reduce his vassals throughout the kingdom to submission and in unsuccessful attempts to stop the encroachment of the king of Orissa. Narasimha also opened new ports on the west coast so that he could revive the horse trade, which had fallen into Bahmanī hands. At his death in 1491, following the siege of Udayagiri and his own imprisonment there by Orissa, Narasimha left his kingdom in the hands of his chief minister, Narasa Nayaka. The King did not think his sons were ready to take charge of the throne so he gave that power to his most trusted general and minister Narasa. The minister in effect ruled Vijayanagar from 1490 until his own death in 1503. Narasimha's eldest son, Thimma Bhupa, was murdered by an army commander and one of Narasa's enemies in 1492 so Narasimha's youngest son, Narasimha Raya II, ascended his brother to the throne as king. He was enthroned as Immadi Narasimha. Although he was named king, the authentic control came from Narasa’s eldest son and successor, best known as Vira Narasimha. He ordered the murder of Immadi Narasimha in 1505. He then ascended the throne and inaugurated the Tuluva dynasty, the third dynasty of Vijayanagar and reigned from 1503-1509. It is undoubted that yellapu families were working under Vijayanagara dynasty. The Salva families were belongs to warrior community and they merged with different castes like Rajputs, yellapus, kapus, etc. They established many villages on their names as follows:
